This Easy Baked Brie with Honey Apples and Walnuts is a quick, impressive appetizer that combines warm, gooey brie with sweet-tart apples, crunchy walnuts, and a honey glaze. Perfect for entertaining, it comes together in under 25 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 medium apple, thinly sliced (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Crusty baguette slices, crackers, or apple slices for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the brie sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a small skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Add the thinly sliced apple and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften and turn golden at the edges. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon if using, and stir for another 30 seconds. Remove from heat.
  3. Using a sharp knife, gently score the top rind of the brie in a crosshatch pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. Place the brie in a small baking dish.
  4. Spoon the sautéed apples over the top of the brie. Drizzle 3 tablespoons of honey over the apples and brie, letting some run down the sides. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over everything.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the brie feels soft and puffed when gently pressed, and the honey is bubbling around the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary if desired. Transfer the baking dish to a serving platter and surround with baguette slices, crackers, or apple slices.

Notes

Let the brie sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before baking for even heating. Don’t skip scoring the brie—it helps the honey soak in. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet for 3-4 minutes for deeper flavor. Slice apples thin (about 1/8 inch) for best texture. Watch the brie closely during the last few minutes of baking to avoid overbaking; it should be soft and puffed but not completely liquid. For best results, serve warm within 15 minutes of baking.
