Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (e.g., King’s Hawaiian)
  • 1 pound deli-sliced roasted turkey breast (thick-sliced)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (or Swiss)
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the cranberry aioli: In a small bowl, mix together cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Without separating the rolls, slice the entire block of 12 Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Spread half of the cranberry aioli evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  5. Layer the sliced turkey evenly over the aioli-covered rolls, folding slices to fit.
  6. Lay provolone slices over the turkey, covering completely.
  7. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese and press down gently.
  8. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush this mixture generously over the top of the rolls. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if using.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until tops are golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let sliders rest for 5 minutes before cutting between the rolls. Serve warm with extra cranberry aioli on the side.

Notes

For best results, use thick-sliced deli turkey and Hawaiian sweet rolls. Make the aioli a day ahead for deeper flavor. Let sliders rest after baking to prevent cheese from sliding. Double the aioli for extra dipping. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in oven at 300°F for 10 minutes.
