These easy turkey cream cheese pinwheel roll-ups are a quick, adaptable, and tasty lunch option perfect for on-the-go meals, picnics, or light office lunches. They combine creamy seasoned cream cheese with turkey and fresh toppings rolled in a tortilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Large flour tortillas (10-inch size works best for rolling)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (Philadelphia preferred)
  • 8 oz thinly sliced turkey breast (deli-style or leftover roasted turkey)
  • A handful of fresh spinach leaves (optional)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • 2 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional extras: sliced roasted red peppers, a sprinkle of dill, or a thin layer of honey mustard

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by placing 8 ounces in a mixing bowl and letting it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  2. Stir in ¼ teaspoon garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix well until smooth and evenly combined.
  3. Place one 10-inch tortilla on a clean cutting board or flat surface. Warm slightly in the microwave for about 10 seconds if cold to make pliable.
  4. Spread a thin, even layer of the seasoned cream cheese over the entire tortilla, leaving about half an inch clear around the edges.
  5. Lay thin slices of turkey evenly over the cream cheese, covering most of the surface.
  6. Scatter fresh spinach leaves, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions evenly over the turkey.
  7. Starting from one edge, gently but firmly roll the tortilla into a tight cylinder without squeezing too hard.
  8. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to help hold its shape.
  9. Remove from fridge, unwrap, and use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 1-inch thick slices. Arrange on a serving plate or pack into containers.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for easy spreading to avoid tearing tortillas. Chill roll-ups before slicing for cleaner pinwheel slices. Warm tortillas slightly if cold to prevent cracking. Avoid overfilling to keep roll-ups intact. Sharp knife recommended for slicing. Can be made ahead and stored refrigerated up to 3 days or frozen uncut for up to 1 month.
