A light and spooky apple cider sangria perfect for Halloween parties. This easy punch combines dry white wine, apple cider, and brandy with fresh fruit for a deliciously festive drink that comes together in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 cups apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 1/2 cup apple brandy or Calvados (optional)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries (optional)
  • Ice or frozen apple slices for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash and thinly slice the apples and orange. Leave the peels on. Rinse cranberries if using.
  2. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine white wine, apple cider, apple brandy (if using), honey, and lemon juice. Stir until honey is fully dissolved. If honey is thick, warm it with a tablespoon of cider in the microwave for 10 seconds first.
  3. Gently add apple slices, orange slices, and cranberries. Stir gently to avoid breaking the fruit.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
  5. When ready to serve, add the cinnamon stick to the pitcher. Fill glasses with ice or frozen apple slices, pour sangria, and ensure each glass gets some fruit.

Notes

For best results, let the sangria chill overnight. The fruit infuses the liquid and flavors meld beautifully. If sangria tastes too tart, add another tablespoon of honey. If too sweet, add more lemon juice. For a non-alcoholic version, swap wine for sparkling apple cider and skip the brandy. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days; remove cranberries after the first day to avoid bitterness.
