This quick spooky witches’ brew green punch is a happy accident turned Halloween tradition. Ready in 5 minutes with simple ingredients, it delivers an electric green color and sweet-tart flavor that kids and adults love, perfect for any Halloween party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 packet (0.14 oz) green lemon-lime sports drink powder
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 cups lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP), chilled
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • Dry ice (for spooky effect, handle with gloves)
  • Green gummy worms or spiders (for garnish, optional)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes (optional, for chilling)

Instructions

  1. Make the ice ring at least 4 hours ahead: Fill a ring mold or bundt pan halfway with water. Add gummy worms or a plastic spider if desired. Freeze for 2 hours, then add more water to fill and freeze completely.
  2. 5 minutes before serving, mix the base: In a large pitcher, combine thawed limeade concentrate, green sports drink powder, and 4 cups cold water. Stir vigorously with a whisk until the powder is completely dissolved.
  3. Add 1 cup pineapple juice and stir gently. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed (add sugar if too tart, fresh lime juice if too sweet).
  4. Pour the base into a punch bowl or cauldron, filling it about two-thirds full.
  5. Right before serving, slowly pour in 2 cups lemon-lime soda. Stir gently to keep carbonation.
  6. Carefully unmold the ice ring by running the outside under warm water for 10-15 seconds. Slide it into the punch. Alternatively, add regular ice cubes.
  7. Using tongs, add small walnut-sized chunks of dry ice to the punch for a fog effect. Do this just before guests arrive, as the fog lasts 10-15 minutes. Ensure no one drinks the dry ice.
  8. Garnish with green gummy worms around the bowl rim. Serve immediately in clear cups.

Notes

Dry ice is for visual effect only—do not consume. Handle dry ice with tongs or thick gloves. The punch is best within 1 hour of serving. For a less sweet version, use sparkling water instead of soda and reduce limeade concentrate. For an adult version, add 1 cup white rum or vodka. Leftover base (without soda and ice) can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
