These Spooky White Chocolate Pretzel Fingers are the perfect Halloween treat—creepy, delicious, and easy to make in under 30 minutes. Salty pretzels, creamy white chocolate, and crunchy almond fingernails come together for a fun, crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) pretzel rods (e.g., Snyder’s of Hanover)
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers (e.g., Ghirardelli)
  • ½ cup sliced almonds (raw, unsalted)
  • Red food coloring gel (optional, e.g., Wilton)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or shortening (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay out pretzel rods in a single layer, leaving space between each.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals at 50% power, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy (about 2 minutes). Stir in ½ teaspoon coconut oil if needed.
  3. Prepare the ‘blood’: Scoop out 2 tablespoons of melted white chocolate into a small bowl. Add a tiny drop of red food coloring gel and stir until deep red. Set aside.
  4. Pipe the chocolate onto the pretzels: Transfer remaining white chocolate to a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off a tiny corner. Pipe a thick layer onto the top two-thirds of each pretzel rod. Use a toothpick to spread and create knuckle creases (three small indentations near the top).
  5. Add the fingernails: While chocolate is still wet, press a sliced almond into the tip of each finger, pointed end outward. If almond slides off, dip it in melted chocolate first.
  6. Add the ‘blood’ details: Using a toothpick, dab a tiny amount of red chocolate onto knuckle indentations and at the base of each fingernail.
  7. Set the chocolate: Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until chocolate is completely firm.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Carefully peel fingers off parchment. Arrange on a platter with fingernails pointing outward. Best served within 24 hours.

Notes

Don’t overheat white chocolate; melt at 50% power. Work in small batches to prevent chocolate from setting in the piping bag. Use thick, sturdy pretzel rods. Let chocolate set completely before handling. Imperfect fingers look more realistic.
